Greening the environment in the Greater North Pine Neighborhood in Downtown Long Beach California through community involvement.
Beautify Pine is a grassroots project created to improve the Downtown Long Beach California cityscape and build neighborhood engagement and pride of place through shared work. We partner with existing businesses, property managers, Council District 1, and community leaders to improve the North Pine neighborhood. Our volunteers clean up, compost, mulch, plant - and most importantly - maintain the green spaces on North Pine Avenue. Our efforts bring together community members as well as gardening experts like Long Beach Composting, and Root & Branch Landscaping who consult with Beautify Pine on sustainable practices. Beautify Pine creates low maintenance and sustainable environments to respond to the current California drought and facilitate its ongoing maintenance efforts.
We hold our major work sessions each weekend. However, if you cannot attend our regular weekend sessions, we also have in-week opportunities to water planters and trees, gather free compost and mulch, weed, and gather new plants and cuttings for planting on Sunday.
Just show up to join our regular weekly sessions. Find out when and where to show up by subscribing to our weekly emails. Or Contact Us to schedule an in-week session.
We also accept donations from the public to supplement funding from our occasional grant awards. We may also be able to use your in-kind donations of plants or gardening equipment.
